Lathrop Vending Supports Employment Opportunities for Individuals with Disabilities

A thoughtful gift can make a lasting impact, and for Lathrop Vending, their recent employee celebration became an opportunity to showcase talent, creativity, and inclusion.

As part of their employee party, Lathrop Vending gave each employee a special gift: custom tumblers created by individuals participating in UCP Eastern CT’s Employment Exploration Opportunities (EEO) program.

These tumblers were more than a unique employee gift. They represented partnership, purpose, and possibility.

Creating Meaningful Employment Experiences

UCP Eastern CT’s Employment Exploration Opportunities program helps individuals with disabilities explore their interests, develop skills, build confidence, and discover possibilities for meaningful employment.

Through hands-on experiences, participants have opportunities to learn about different types of work while developing skills that can support greater independence and participation in their communities.

The custom tumblers created for Lathrop Vending provided one such meaningful opportunity. Participants were able to contribute their creativity and skills to a project with a real purpose that would be enjoyed by others.
