Wearable Tech, Real Independence: UCP Hosts Hands-On Training at East Lyme Public Library
United Cerebral Palsy of Eastern Connecticut (UCP), in partnership with the CT Tech Act Project, will host a 90-minute presentation and hands-on training, Wearable Technology & Hands-On Training, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the East Lyme Public Library, 39 Society Road, Niantic, CT. Registration is $25 per person, and space is limited.
About This Hands-On Training
The session introduces wearable technologies that expand accessibility and independence for people with disabilities and seniors — smartwatches, hearing and vision aids, communication supports, and prompting tools that quietly do heavy lifting across daily life. Attendees will see and try devices firsthand, not just watch a slideshow.
The training is led by UCP’s certified Assistive Technology Specialists (ATS) in collaboration with the CT Tech Act Project, Connecticut’s federally designated assistive technology program.
