Finding Hope and Support: Molly’s Journey with UCP

“In a world of judgment, UCP has given me hope for my daughter’s future. I am the mother of 10-year-old Molly Wright. I met Shannon about 10 years ago. She came to my house. I don’t recall how we connected, but she came to my house, walked in, and said, ‘Where is the baby?’,” said Emily Wright, mother to Molly.

“When Molly was one, her family came to UCP seeking answers, support, and hope. They found a team that stayed with them as she grew. As her needs changed, so did the support. So each new stage didn’t feel like starting over,” said Shannon Tabor, director of Inclusion and Accessibility at UCP.

“Their energy to help the special needs community is limitless,” said Emily.

“When Emily calls UCP’s energy limitless, it’s because that connection introduced her to the practical tools and support she wouldn’t have known to look for otherwise,” said Shannon.

“I wouldn’t know of the many adaptations or knowledge of accommodations if it weren’t for my connections at UCP. With all that said, I think donors and their fundraising efforts make these successes possible. I am proud to say that UCP is part of my daughter’s growth,” said Emily.
