UCP Honored for Building Strong Community Partnerships

CT Private/Public Partnership Award at the DDS South Region

UCP was honored to receive the Private/Public Partnership Award at the DDS South Region Recognition Awards ceremony on October 1, 2026.

This award recognizes organizations that build strong public-private partnerships that benefit individuals, families, and the community. We are grateful to be recognized for the work we do alongside the people we support, DDS partners, employers, families, and community partners.

At UCP, our services support the whole person and help each individual build a life that is meaningful to them. We work with each person to identify their goals and interests while supporting them in building independence, developing skills and confidence, strengthening community connections, finding meaningful employment, pursuing personal interests, and becoming stronger advocates for themselves.

There is no one definition of a meaningful life. Our role is to listen to each person, support their goals, and help create the connections and opportunities that make their vision possible. We are thankful for our public partners, employers, community businesses, families, and everyone who works with us to create these opportunities. Most importantly, we are thankful for the people we support, who continue to show us what is possible. This recognition highlights the work we do every day to help people live life without limits through meaningful opportunities, stronger community connections, greater independence, and lives that are truly their own.
