United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Eastern Connecticut was founded in 1947 by a dedicated group of local who were committed to develop supports and programs for their children with cerebral palsy. These parents brought awareness of the supports and services needed and hope for a better future with individuals with disabilities.
This was the cornerstone for the development of a nationwide network of affiliates who strive to ensure the inclusion of persons with disabilities in every facet of society. Today this organization is part of one of the largest health charities in America and recently becoming international with new affiliates in Australia and China.
The services and programs continue to change and evolve to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities.
