United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Eastern Connecticut was founded in 1947 by a dedicated group of local who were committed to develop supports and programs for their children with Cerebral Palsy.
These parents brought awareness of the supports and services needed and hope for a better future with individuals with disabilities.
This was the cornerstone for the development of a nationwide network of affiliates who strive to ensure the inclusion of persons with disabilities in every facet of society.
The services and programs
continue to evolve to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities in order to develop methods, procedures, and rehabilitation technology that maximize the full inclusion and integration into society, employment, independent living, family support, and economic and social self-sufficiency of individuals with disabilities, especially individuals with the most severe disabilities, and to improve the effectiveness of services.
