Steven Smigiel, UCP’s Finance Manager is celebrating his 25th work anniversary at UCP!
While celebrating work anniversaries may seem trivial to some, its important to say that there is nothing that Steve does for UCP that is trivial! From maintenance, to finance, to vehicles and music…. Steve is more than meets the eye!
Thank You Steve for all you do for all of us here at UCP!
It gives UCP great pleasure to announce that Jon Maderia has joined the UCP Eastern CT team! Jon started on October 27 and is the new Director of Employment Services. Jon will be working out of the Quaker Hill Administrative office, so if you see a new face in the office, let him know that you are excited about him joining our team. You can also call him at 860-443-3800 ext. 118 or send him an email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Jon has a wealth of experience and knowledge providing employment supports to people with disabilities. Previously Jon was the Director of the Employment Transition Center at the Arc of New London County where he worked to maximize each participant’s employment potential; coordinated job development; created internships with local businesses, and promoted skill building. He has worked with DDS supported individuals, BRS supported individuals, area high school students, and managed an agency micro-businesses.
Jon has built a great rapport with DDS case management, department supervisors, DDS and BRS contract management teams and has helped to secure appropriate L.O.N. funding to provide quality services. As you can see, Jon’s experience fits in perfectly with our strategic objectives to deliver new and exciting opportunities for people with disabilities.
We look forward to working with Jon to
- Increase Competitive Integrated Employment for Individuals with Disabilities.
- Help students with disabilities transition to competitive integrated employment.
- Build inclusive communities by starting in the workplace.
