#CerebralPalsyCan – March is Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month

Our amazing staff here at UCP of Eastern Connecticut gave 100% to bring Cerebral Palsy Awareness today! At UCP we work with all individuals and all disabilities. However, we want to help support the individuals with Cerebral Palsy gain the awareness and acceptance that they deserve in our communities.

Cerebral Palsy is the most common physical disability in childhood. Every hour another child is born with Cerebral Palsy. Cerebral Palsy isnt contagious. More often than not, the cause of cerebral palsy is a brain injury or brain malformation that occurs while the brain is developing — before, during, or after birth. As a result of the brain damage during brain development a child’s muscle control, muscle coordination, muscle tone, reflex, posture and balance can be affected.

There is more to be understood about CP. Thank you for showing your support in raising the awareness for Cerebral Palsy! #cerebralpalsycan
